Overview of CIPM Examination

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria now popularly known as CIPM was first established as the Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria in 1968 but later renamed to its current nomenclature in 1973. The institute caters for personnel management practitioners.

To become a recognized professional personnel management practitioner in Nigeria, you must be registered with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. The inauguration process requires candidates take examination which is in six (6) phases.

Requirements for CIPM Examination

Generally, irrespective of the category you wish to apply, holding an SSCE with at least five (5) credit pass in English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects is mandatory.

1. Foundation: Candidates applying for this level must hold with a Degree of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Pure & Applied Sciences or any other science related discipline.
