About Abia State Teachers Recruitment

Abia State Teachers’ Recruitment is handled by SUBEB (State Universal Basic Education Board) for primary schools and TESCOM (Teaching Service Commission) for secondary schools.

They are responsible for recruiting, deploying, managing and disciplining teachers in public schools across the state.

In order to fill up the shortage of staff in their schools, the Abia State TESCOM had opened the online application portal from 21 Nov, 2025 to 28 November, 2025 so as to recruit qualified individuals who can teach English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Government, Literature and other subjects.

Here’s a careful breakdown of the recruitment process.

1. Application Stage: This is the first stage where you would sign up on the portal https://recruitment.abiastate.gov.ng/jobs/mbse to apply for the role of your choice.

2. Shortlisting Stage: At this stage, they would look at your credentials to see if you’re qualified for the role or not. They would make an announcement to inform you to check the portal to see if you’ve been shortlisted or not.

3. CBT Stage: At this point, you’ve been shortlisted and they’ll need to test your knowledge to see if you truly possess those qualities your credentials had indicated.

They’ll test your knowledge in the core subjects such as English, Mathematics and also in classroom management to see if you have indepth knowledge of the classroom.

That’s why you’ll need to get the Abia State Teachers Past Questions and Answers as it would give you an idea on the specific questions to look out for or expect.

4. Screening Stage: If you passed the CBT, they’ll invite you to come for screening with your original credentials and ID Card for sighting purposes to prove that you are who you say you are.

5. Interview Stage: At this stage, you’ve passed all their checklist but they would still want to make sure that you know how to teach and handle the class.

They’ll observe your teaching style in a demonstration class where you’ll be asked to do a small teaching presentation and they’ll correct you where needed.

6. Appointment Stage: At this stage, you’ve been able to satisfy all their requirements. They would then proceed to give you an appointment letter to show that you’ve been successfully employed into the role you had applied for.
