About Nigerian Correctional Service
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCos) before now was addressed as the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) is an arm of the criminal justice system which is responsible for operating prisons and providing correctional services based on 3 R’s mandate.
These are Rehabilitation, Reformation, and Reintegration. Simply put, the NCoS facilitates and rehabilitates inmates and criminals across the nation.
From time to time, they usually recruit interested parties to positions like Cadet Assistant Superintendent, Junior Officers/Enlisted Staff, Senior Prison Officer, Prison Officer I-III and other specialized professional roles.
NCoS Recruitment Process
- Candidates must first apply through the official CDCFIB recruitment portal recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng when the recruitment is announced and provide a valid NIN, select a specific cadre (Superintendent, Inspectorate, or Assistant), and print an acknowledgment slip.
- Candidates will then be shortlisted for the aptitude test or CBT. This is where having the NCoS recruitment past questions and answers will come in handy.
- After which, successful candidates will be for physical screening and document verification. The physical screening will include screening based on basic requirements like age (18-35 years), height (min 1.65m for males, 1.60m for females).
- Qualified candidates will also undergo medical screening and fitness tests at government-recognized hospitals to know if they are fit for paramilitary duty.
- After all that, the final selection and appointment will be done. Successful candidates will receive their appointment letters and would then be invited for documentation.
- Those who have successfully been recruited will then undergo a paramilitary induction and training program that’ll last for at least 6 months at an NCoS Training College before they’ll be posted to their place of assignments.
